Overview
Product Lifecycle Management Road Map™ represents a strategic conference focused on the critical trade-offs that shape design and engineering. PLM Road Map 2004, which took place in Dearborn, Michigan on September 22 and 23, brought together leading-edge users, top vendor architects, and the most in-depth analysts in the sector to discuss implementation tradeoffs and the latest in PLM technology. The themes for the conference were horizontal integration and process driven design. Presentations covered collaboration across the whole enterprise, knowledge capture and reuse, PLM interoperability, Open CAD and tight integration, product development platforms to meet the needs of commonality and variety, up front simulation early in the design cycle, up front manufacturing process constraints, sourcing, the business benefits of PLM, and more.
Top industry analysts, Ken Versprille, Vasco Drecun, Michel Vrinat, key industry players and front-line implementation experts discussed their personal experiences in addressing strategic PLM topics. Attendees at the event heard about successes in making technology work by linking it across the whole product lifecycle and the obstacles encountered on the way.
